Bio

Gary R. Gildert is a PhD Candidate in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of Houston under Prof. Lars Grabow and Prof. Michael Harold. His thesis is on the development of a Nitric Oxide Resistant Diesel Oxidation Catalyst.

Gary has worked in the hydrocarbon processing industry for over 40 years, the first 19 in plant operations, capital projects, and R&D purchasing and testing catalysts.  For 22 years, he worked for catalyst companies selling catalyst, technical support, product development, and served as Chief Technical Officer. He is an internationally recognized subject matter expert in hydro treating and catalytic oxidation with an impressive record of patents, publications, and international presentations.

Gary earned a BASc (ChE) from the University of Waterloo, Canada, an MBA from Rice University, is a registered professional engineer in Canada, and a licensed engineer in Texas.  He is the 2013 Chair of the South Texas Section of the AIChE, and a member of SWCS and ACS.
