Chris Scharf currently serves as Vice President, Petrochemicals of KBR’s Technology Business Unit. KBR’s Technology Business Unit provides process licenses, basic engineering, catalysts, proprietary equipment, and technical services. Mr. Scharf leads the business operations as well as technology projects worldwide for KBR’s Olefins and Chemicals technologies. Mr. Scharf was appointed to this position in 2023.
His 20+ years of experience have focused on executive management and leadership in the energy sector and sustainable process technologies. He has led operational and technology teams around the world as well as managed critical commissioning and technical teams. In addition to the US, he has served multi-year assignments in Chile and Trinidad & Tobago to support these efforts.
Before joining KBR, Mr. Scharf worked for CB&I and Lummus Technology. At CB&I (an EPC company later acquired by Mcdermott), Mr. Scharf focused on commissioning and technical services of refining and petrochemical facilities as well as project management of EPC projects. At Lummus Technology (a licensor of refining and petrochemical technologies), Mr. Scharf led the global operations team responsible for execution of licensor packages as well as proprietary equipment and catalyst sales.
Mr. Scharf has a deep-rooted passion for devising and delivering solutions for customers’ business-critical challenges in the energy industry as well as advancing operational efficiencies through digitalization of processes.
Mr. Scharf is a licensed professional engineer in Texas in mechanical engineering.
